Manicures For M.A.D.D.

Hey guys!!! So today I am going to do a manicure for something that is very close to my heart. Mothers Against Drunk Driving is a non profit organization that helps victims of drunk driving crashes. They also help protect and create laws to try and stop drinking and driving. This is from their website "To date, MADD's work has saved nearly 300,000 lives... and counting." Read more at http://www.madd.org/

This is near to my heart because as a lot of you know, I was affected by a drunk driving crash. It was 2 years ago and I was going to Gatlinburg with my sister -in-law and neice and nephew. We were hit on the way by a man who's B.A.C. was .15, nearly twice the legal limit in Tennessee, which is .08. My sister was killed, and the 3 of us were severly injured. He also hit another car with 2 young girls, who were bruised and shaken up, but they were ok. This man recieved 10 years in prison, and a chance at parole at 30%. MADD is going to help me keep him in when his parole date comes up. Here is a video of my journey.

As I have said before, I am not looking for sympathy. This happened to me for a reason, and I believe that reason is to save lives. I am confident in saying that I have and will continue to save lives. That is my goal in life now.

So what is the reason in doing a MADD manicure today, you ask? On July 14th 1984, Congress and President Ronald Reagan enacted legislation that set the national minimum legal drinking age at 21. Today marks the 27 year anniversary of the law that I believe saved many lives.

I started with my new base coat, OPI Nail Envy nail strengthener. It is supposed to help with peeling and help to strengthen.

This color is OPI Red My Fortune Cookie. I got it for free with my RapiDry Top coat :) This picture is taken under my lamp inside.

This OPI DS Radiance. This was taken inside

This is my topper. It is a new polish I picked up yesterday. It is OPI I Lily Love you. I love this polish. It has sparkles of all different size inside. It's like a birthday in a bottle!!!

I hope you guys enjoyed my manicure today. Please Share my story. Help me save lives :)

OPI Designer Series in the sun!!!

Hey guys!!! Today I was hanging out at the pool with one of my friends... Before she came over I decided to use one of my new polishes. Yesterday I bought 2 OPI Designer Series colors. I couldn't decide which one to use... so I just used both :)
I first used OPI DS Extravagance. This is a dark magenta color with scattered holographic glitter. It reminds me of red wine :)
I then used OPI DS Reserve to finish it off :) This is a beautiful light pink holographic. Bubblegum almost :)

I love designer series because it is so sparkly, but not at all gritty. I will be getting them all eventually :)

SO NOW IS FACT TIME!!!!

My hobby is singing. I LOVE TO SING. I have to brag... I'm pretty dang good at it!! I will be posting videos one day!!! Also. Fact to know. I cannot dance. I suck at it. Always have and I always will... but I do love to move hahahhaa!

Lots of polish last night!!!

Hey guys!!! Okay so my boyfriend is out of town for the week... and last night I was so bored!!

First I wanted to try to make rays with Zoya Charla and Zoya Ivanka. It was taking too long to dry, so I went to WalMart and bought a little fan on sale for 10$. GREAT IDEA!!! Made the process go by a lot quicker.

Ivanka is on my ring finger and Charla is on the rest. I absolutely LOVE these 2 colors. They are glittery goodness!! I finished it off by putting a ray on my ring finger.

Love!!! Well I didn't let it dry, so it smudged :(
I then tried out my new polishes!!!

1st one I got was Hard Candy Just Nails nail color- Beetle. This one is gorgeous. It is a glittery duochrome that changes from red to purple to green and so on... depending on what lighting it's in. It is beautiful. The formula was great. Not too thick, not too thin... I only used one coat, but I layered it over my CND- Rock Royalty.

On the other hand, I painted with Rimmel London 615 Night Before. This polish is beautiful. Inside it looks like a very deep blue. When you step outside it's like MAGIC!!! This polish has a blue-violet base with burgundy/gold shimmer. It is so beautiful. Formula was again great... and it dried super fast!

This was inside.

TADAAA! Outside. It doesn't even look like the same polish... but it is!!!

Fact of the day!!!

My best friend is a dog. I was in a wreck 2 years ago and couldn't walk on my own for 3 months. During that time (after the month in the hospital) my puppy Sophie sat by my side all day. She would lay her big head on my chair and her lips would flop out to she side. She stole my heart. I love that dog more than I ever thought I could. She calms me more than anything else in the world!!!

She is the sweetest dog ever. There is no one who has met her that doesn't like her. :)

Shellac+Zoya= Happiness!!!!!

Hey guys!!! Ok so I know I said the CND Fedora was going to stay for a while... but I changed my mind lol. Love the color, but it is more of a fall/winter color. I needed some brightness in my life!!!

Shellac comes off amazing. I soaked my nails in acetone for 10 minutes and it just flakes right off. When I use Zoya's Remove plus, it doesn't mess up the shellac... so I think I will be layering over what I have for a while.

The color I used was CND Rock Royalty. Another shellac!! :) I absolutely LOVE this color... but it could have used 1 more coats. With CND, the goal is to use very thin coats, which is sometimes hard because the polish itself is very thick. This is the only color I feel needs more than 2 coats. On my toes I did 3 coats and it covered perfect... did 2 on my nails and it looks good, but there are some spots that are lighter.

Also... this color was VERY hard to capture... It is a blue-violet color with a very small amount of shimmer. Which by the way is IMPOSSIBLE to capture lol.

The last picture captures it the best... This was very hard to show it's true color!!! lol.
I then added Zoya Pru. This was one of my first 3 polishes that I got when Zoya had the free 3 for New Year  this year. It is a very sheer polish, so I have never used it. I love the color it is over Rock Royalty. Zoya describes Pru as a bronzed plum with flecks of gold glitter and subtle purple and gold duochrome. This is very accurate, I just wish it was not so sheer.

Ok so now for the Brittany fact of the day!! I have been with my boyfriend Josh for 3 years. I love him with all my heart. He has been there for me through the worst time in my life, and did some amazing things during that time. I think he is here to stay :)

And don't forget to tell your friends I'm doing a giveaway at 100 followers!!!!!!!!!!!! and I have the hook ups to things that aren't out to the public yet :)

Hey guys!!! So last night me and my friend had a girls night. We went to this place called Sips N Strokes. You bring a drink, and they teach you how to paint a masterpiece! I have been a lot. I love it. Last nights painting... turned out.... ehhh.. :)

And there it is!!! The blonde one is my friend Erin's and the brunette is mine. It was definitely the hardest one I've ever done... and not one I'll be hanging up LOL! May go try and sell it on ebay... :)

Also. I am going to give you guys a picture and fact about me everyday. So the fact today issss...

I have two 3 month old kitties. The girl (calico) is Trixie and the boy (orange tabby) is Milo. I have wanted a orange kitten named Milo since I saw the movie Milo and Otis when I was little. I finally got one :-D

So on to the fun stuff. Yesterdays manicure was a special one :)

I learned about shellac when I was in school. I went and got a shellac manicure... (SO EXPENSIVE IN A SALON!!!) and I LOVED it!!! It was so super shiny and smooth. I decided to go buy it.

The color I used was CND- Fedora. It's a dark brown with a hint of maroon. It is so beautiful. Last night I kept looking at my nails and telling Erin how much I loved them. haha! I would love to have my hair this color...

There you go!!! So I love this so much I don't know if it will be coming off anytime soon... so I may add some design or something for tomorrow :)

Depending on how my blog goes... I'm thinking I may have a giveaway at 100 followers. :) TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!
